On the evening of Friday 18 September 2020, the Guernsey churches invited candidates who are standing in the Guernsey election to a 'candidates' convention' - an evening of conversation with clergy and ministers in Guernsey and an opportunity for candidates to meet Christians involved in ‘creation care’, the Tumaini Fund, PACE (working in Guernsey’s schools), end of life care, care for the unborn, support for ex-offenders and Guernsey Welfare Service. Some 46 candidates attended (listerd here - along with a list of those who sent apologies), which was very encouraging. More than half of them subsequently completed a questionnaire, giving their views on the topics we considered.
The candidates’ responses are available here, here and here. We hope that the thoughtful responses from the candidates will assist people as they prepare to complete ballot papers and help them to be better informed choices about the candidates’ views.
